During my time at Mortis Studio, the creative outfit led by Taylor Johnson and Dustyn Peterman, one of my favorite projects was collaborating with Dinosaur Jr. We created a handmade video collage by blending footage from an empty, pandemic-era live show at Look Park with studio clips captured by the band’s longtime documentarian, Joe Salinas. To match the music's gritty, tactile energy, we completely bypassed digital effects. Instead, we printed out every single frame, physically crumpled, tore, and hand-drew on each page, and then re-photographed them to construct the final animation.

In total, we hand-crafted and photographed over 2,400 pages, animating them at 10 frames per second to give the final video a unique, textured look. Despite a packed production schedule, we made sure to make this one happen.
